Meet Our Dulcimers!
LINDA'S DULCIMERS
On the left, is my wormy
chestnut top/walnut body
dulcimer made by Mike Clemmer
in Townsend, TN. (Wood N Strings
Dulcimer Shop). The middle
dulcimer is one of the "Lacewood
Sisters" that we each have. This
one has a lacewood top with
butterfly soundholes and walnut
body with the blackwood
fretboard and church body. It is
also made by Mike Clemmer. On
the right, this dulcimer is made of
100% koa with ebony fretboard
and is made by Bob McGowan of
Memphis, TN. All beautiful and
each has its own individual sound.
GINNY'S DULCIMERS
From left to right:
"Anabel" - Western Red Cedar
soundboard and Peruvian Walnut
body with double back. Made by
David McKinney of Modern
Mountain Dulcimers. This lovely
instrument has a very sweet, clear
sound and is beautiful for playing
hymns, celtic tunes, as well as
LOUD jamming songs.
"Fred" - Spruce soundboard and
Australian Lacewood double back
body, also made by David McKinney.
Very deep tones resonate from
this outstanding instrument with
clarity and preciseness that is
lovely to hear.

DEBY'S DULCIMERS
From left to right:
"Ruby" - Performance dulcimer
made by Kurt Simerman. Curly
mahogany top, walnut sides &
back, curly maple binding.
"Faith" - All cherry deluxe
ban-jammer made by Mike Clemmer
. Play it like a dulcimer--sounds
like a banjo--very cool!
"Grace" - Ginger model made by
McSpadden. Purchased through
Larry Conger and The Dulcimer
Shoppe. Tuned GDG and mainly
used in our ensemble pieces.
"Glory" - Church-body style
dulcimer made by Mike Clemmer.
Lacewood top with walnut sides
and back. Dogwood and vines
soundholes. One of the
"Lacewood Sisters".
"Joe" - Baritone dulcimer (tuned down to GDG or AEA) with a Spalded Buckeye soundboard and Walnut
body, again created by David McKinney. Resounds with very deep, distinctive and lovely tones.
"Dulci" - Dulcimer tuned an octave higher--a creation of Ron Ewing. This little cedar and walnut
instrument has a "Chiming" sound when played and is beautiful by itself OR played as a chord
accompaniment to full-size dulcimers.
"Evangeline" - With a Lacewood soundboard and Walnut body, this beautiful chromatic dulcimer, made
by Mike Clemmer, can add an absolutely lovely touch to any tune. Because it is chromatic, it allows
diversity in tunes and extra tones not possible on the diatonic instruments.
"Benji" - This cherry deluxe Ban-Jammer (made to order by Mike Clemmer) is fun and wonderful in its
banjo sounds - a super instrument on its own or as an added touch in a group.
THE LACEWOOD SISTERS!
Ginny and Linda have "twin" dulcimers made by Mike Clemmer, Wood-N-Strings Dulcimer Shop,
Townsend, TN. They are the new church body style with matched lacewood tops, walnut sides and
backs and they are BEAUTIFUL! "The Twins" had their debut performance on November 10, 2006, on
open stage at the KADC Retreat with Katie's Song by Lee Rowe--again, beautiful!
Deby has a "sister" dulcimer that arrived on Friday, March 2, 2007, just in time to perform with her
siblings on open stage at the Ohio Valley Gathering on March 3. The lacewood top is from the same
board as Ginny and Linda's dulcimers, but is just a little further down the "family tree", so to speak.
The sisters performed Katie's Song" and they truly did "sing" together!
A huge "THANK YOU" to Mike Clemmer for making these gorgeous instruments for us that know they are
connected when we play them!
LACEWOOD LITTLE SISTERS!
All three of us now have little sisters for our lacewood dulcimers! In the summer of 2007, Mike
Clemmer made each of us a Tennessee Sweetie with matching lacewood tops. These little gals love
to play together and the first thing Deby did was write a special song just for the Sweeties called
"Sisters". This was played on the Open Stage in November at the KADC Retreat in Townsend.

Ginny has some new additions to her dulcimer
family, shown at right.
On the left is a beautiful new Modern Mountain
Dulcimer named "Anna". She was a surprise
Christmas gift from Ginny's husband and is made of a
leopardwood body and a western red cedar
soundboard. She has a double back and stands out
in a crowd. What a gorgeous sound she creates!
In the middle is the newest acquisition.
"Bullwinkle" was born the first week of June, 2008.
A Mike Clemmer creation, this beauty has a
butternut soundborad with all natural sound holes.
He's smiling and looks very much like a moose, don't
you think? The body is walnut and the sound is
incredible--a wonderful instrument for jamming.
At UNICOI in 2007, Ginny picked up her first bowed dulcimer, a gorgeous Hardanger Model created by
Ken Bloom (www.boweddulcimer.com). This beauty is Alaskan Sitka Spruce, with five sympathetic
strings and hand painted in patterns after the Norwegian Hardanger fiddles. Her name is "Anietta" and
her sound is unbelievable!
